CHRISTOPHER J. GROBELNY
Chris’ focus is in Commercial Real Estate, primarily in industrial and warehouse transactions. He first joined Weston in 1999 and was promoted to Vice President of Acquisitions and Dispositions in 2000, and in 2005 gained the added responsibility of managing the company’s financial and debt portfolio. In 2013 Chris was promoted to Senior Vice President of Weston.
Chris has broad knowledge of the complexities of acquisitions, dispositions, and finance. His extensive experience in acquisitions includes: closing multiple 1031 tax deferred exchanges, value and financial analysis, negotiations of Letters of Intent and Purchase Agreements, equity and debt management, and third party due diligence. With respect to dispositions, Chris’ experience ranges from the financial analysis, marketing, and sales planning to the negotiations, final closing, and disposition of the assets. Square footage acquired and disposed of since 1999 totals at over 13.5 million, with a value of over $361 million. Financial responsibilities include management of a debt portfolio in excess of $250 million, maintaining investor relations, raising required equity contributions for all acquisitions, and securing significant cash flow savings through monitoring and appealing real estate taxes for all properties.
Prior to joining Weston, Chris worked in the Construction Real Estate Department of KeyCorp. He managed a loan portfolio in excess of $35 million and originated over $10 million in new loan volume. The construction loans focused on Low Income Housing Tax Credits, various city grants and governmental funds, and syndication. An excess of 15 individual transactions were approved, totaling over $75 million in Line of Credit approvals.
