In early May, with a recent new addition to our young family, my wife and I decided that renting was no longer beneficial for us, and it was time to start looking for a place to call home.  Having never been through the home-buying process before, we were both rather nervous and unsure of how to begin.  After speaking with several different local realtors, we stumbled upon Jim and Christine Dern.  Unlike the others we spoke to, our first conversation with the Derns made us feel comfortable and confident that we had someone working for us, and with us, to help us find the home of our dreams.  Despite being very busy, Jim and Chritine not only made us feel like their most important and valuable client, but they made us feel like part of their family as well.  Our first home buying experience was lengthy, complicated, and had many setbacks, however the Derns stood by us every step of the way and made themselves available day and night to address any questions or concerns we may have had.  Jim and Christine went far above and beyond what we may have expected from a realtor, and acted as mentors, friends, and professional guides to help see things through to a successful conclusion.  In early August, after looking at many different homes, my wife and I concluded the purchase of our first home together.  It is everything we could have hoped for in our first home, and it may not have been possible had it not been for the kind, caring, and excellent service we received by working with Jim and Christine Dern.  From day one, my wife and I knew that we had found our realtors not only for now, but for life.
