Just a quick reminder of what you may ask how it relates to Real Estate...
AT&T is shutting down their 2G cellular network on 12/31/16. This network was largely still in use by what they call Machine2Machine devices. This is impacting many home owners who have security systems that use 2G as their primary or backup communication path. If your alarm provider (or monitoring service) has not contacted you may want to touch base and see how your system works.
If your home security system is over 5 years old you may want to revisit your options. Many people take for granted that their system is functioning and protecting your home when in fact it is not functioning on all levels. The technology is changing rapidly and many times for the same monitoring cost you can greatly expand your functionality.
Remember if your security system is only using landline to communicate with monitoring service, it is very easy to defeat. Your house probably has what is called a network interface on the side of your house. Removing one screw allows you to open the box and unplug your connection. Once the phone line is disconnected your security system can no longer communicate with the monitoring service. Most modern systems have at least two paths to the monitoring service. Many use a landline and cellular but as many people eliminate landlines they use IP (your high speed internet connection) and cellular. The use of your high speed internet allows them to integrate real time video and conversation.

Your most memorable moment
Him walking our target purchase neighborhood with us, passing out flyers (that he made for us) in hopes to find our next home in a market that was very dry at the time.
The moment you'd rather forget?
We lost the first home we wanted because we weren't far enough along in the sale of our home to safely put in a bid. We were very disappointed at the time. Turns out he was right for being so cautious for us. We ended up in a much better home and are now very happy!
Matt handled the sale of our old home and purchase of our new home. He came up with several great ideas to not only market our home, but also to find our new one in neighborhood that didn't have much to offer at the time. He's knowledgeable, passionate, and seems to think outside the box. We are very happy! -D. Meade
